Never was on the Carden Show but they must have liked this picture. Off subject, but I enjoyed watching the movie "Dinner At eight" last night and recalled John Herriott telling me that actor Edmund Lowe was a good friend of Gil Grey and would often drop by the Show's Winter Quarters in Dallas and he enjoyed listening to them cut up jackpots.

I came across this photo of "Black Diamond" on the Atterbury Show in 1924 with trainer Curly Pritchett. The back of the photo says Diamond was 22.

Looking Back!

My father never encouraged me to get around elephants, in fact when I got married he said, "Listen to your wife, she knows more about elephants than you do". I eventually got the knack by helping Logan and today have no idea how many young elephants have passed thru my hands.

Quite a picture.....

.....you don't see this many sequins in the entire performance today!
