Good Day Mr. Wayne... Thanks for your fantastic photographs. The photo of elephat that i have send is Guruvayur "Valiya Kesavan". Have you heared about Guruvayur Temple? There is an elephant sanctuary under this famous temple. It is in Kerala near to my home (Only 5 Kms). There are 65 elephants at present. All of them were donated by the devotees. It is such a wonderful place to visit. This valiya Kesavan comes around 10 feet of hight. He is from the northern state of India (from Bhihar). This Animal is very famous in Kerala (Like Film Star) and there is also FANS Association for this Valiya Kesavan (Elephant). This shows the admiration of the elphants by the Kerala people. I am herewith sending some recent festival snaps from Kerala. Plz check it. Hope you are fine. Thanks &Regards... Marshal |

I recently acquired various scrapbooks of photos and clippings from several fan collections, so I'm mining the material: Hugo Schmitt relaxing in the backyard of Mills ('50-'53) with one of his sons? Anyone know why he left Ringling and then went back? How many bulls did Mills have? Compared to RBBB, a small herd no doubt. |

Star wire walker Hubert Castle (aka, early in career, Hal Silvers, and birth name: James Albert Hal Smith) in RBBB backyard--later a successful circus impresario and major Shrine circus producer; I believe Mrs. Castle, at age 99, may still be with us. Castle sold his show to Tarzan Zerbini in 1979. |

Gene Lewis enjoying a beer in RBBB backyard--on a hot Wisconsin summer day probably tasted pretty good! |

The RBBB elephant walk (21 elephants), Hartford, 1983--was this your herd, Buckles? "No, you can barely see Axel at right. He was on the show for another 10 years." Buckles |

Michu posing with Gargantua II, a decoration in the RBBB Washington office when I worked at the 18th & K Street headquarters. I believe it was later sent to Circus World Haines City and then brought back to Washington. |

While I was still doing PR for Vargas, Circus Vargas elephant race, down Hollywood Bowl, 1981, to promote Hollywood Bowl date, which was nearby. Note the Polk brothers. |

Circus Cameos #10
"Fay once told me a story that might bear repeating. The next year while being paid, Mrs. Antes presented him with a brown paper bag with the explanation that Mr. DeMille always gave awards to people who did outstanding work in his movies. In this case, three awards were presented, one to the guy who did the special effects for the train wreck, I forget the the second and Fay was the third. Later when he looked inside he found a beautifully inscribed medallion and $2,000 in one dollar bills. He never made it clear to me why the show would have to come up the the cash. That evening on the train after counting and recounting, he found that it was one dollar short." Buckles |

Circus Cameos #11
Merle Evans and the band’s organist seem to be finding Holly’s encountering the Great Sebastian aloft as a source of innocent merriment. |

Circus Cameos #12
This scene was most likely filmed on a Hollywood sound stage, and then combined with a scene of the midway that had been filmed on location. It is included here because it provides a good view of the 1951 sideshow banner line. |

Circus Cameos #13
Under its agreement with Ringling, Paramount had to provide the costumes worn by its actors. (Does anyone know if Paramount had these costumes made by Brooks, which made all of Ringling’s 1951 costumes, or by its own wardrobe department?) |
