Polack, leaders and originators in the continental-indoor method of circus production in this country, built an American tradition. Mrs. Irving Polack, with typical show-business courage, assumed her husband's share of the responsibilities. Today Mr. Stern and Mrs. Polack, working tirelessly together to achieve still greater goals, are extremely proud of the fact that Polack Bros. GOSSING'S AFRICAN LIONS One of the truly great "dompteurs" to leave Europe in the past decade, Guy Gossing enjoys an enviable reputation with all of Europe's larger circuses. Gossing believes in showing his lions rather than himself. The unique tricks performed by his animals are all the more hazardous by his proximity to them. Gossing literally takes his life in his hands when he turns himself into a human arch and permits his animals to leave the cage by passing at breakneck speed through his parted legs. Besides the European continent, the Great Gossing has also been starred with circuses throughout Africa, The West Indies, Madagascar and India. He was born in Belgium.

Her family operates an animal import-export company and zoo in Holland. Nelly and Andre Van Dowen have had their present act since 1957. Prior to that time Miss Van Dowen was prima ballerina with the Corps de Ballet of the Theatre Chatalet in Paris.

Ernest Rhodeen and his talented wife Lola, have caused circus audiences to gasp in almost every corner of the civilized world. Ernest is a ninth generation performer whose family have operated their own circuses in the Scandinavian countries for nearly 100 years.

Tumbling and leaping is the foundation of their acts. With this thought in mind, the tricks attained by the Sahara Troupe are truly incredible. They evoke cries of admiration even from their fellow performers when they start to "build the four high" and then go into their lightning finish.
