The following images are frame enlargements taken from a 1947 educational film titled CIRCUS ANIMALS, which was filmed on the Cole Bros. Circus while that show was playing Pasadena, CA. (The exact year when the filming took place is not known; it might have been 1947 or perhaps earlier.) Many of you are familiar with the show from that era and can enlighten the rest of us by identifying who and what is being shown.

This film is still available on a DVD called "C is for Circus"
($12.50). Order from . There are 7 short films on this, 3 or 4 are from Cole Bros. Circus in the late 40's.
These frame enlargements were made from an original 16mm print in my collection, that I acquired many years ago. Judging from the narration, it was intended to be shown to very young children. Back in 1951-1952 when I was in Kindergarten, some of the class work involved a circus theme. (I remember we assembled a display of paper figures showing a circus parade, which was pinned up on a large bulletin board.)
