To Chic Silber



A yard engine shoved the elephant car onto a set of tracks already occupied by a string of flats carrying menagerie cages. Each went over on opposite sides.
That's my dad at right next to someone hosing down the area of the roof that Ace Donovan is cutting an opening, which eventually all 13 elephants and Arky's horse would walk out of.
Incredibly none were seriously injured.

poking up through the damaged side

I have 1 of those early floodlights

(heavy cast aluminum w/ glass lens)

If any collector might be need it

I have a copy of this picture somewhere,either in a railroad wreck book or circus book and its caption reads Trainer Bill Woodcock calms elephant down as worker cuts him out.
