While there were no actual "Robbins Bros", that didn't stop the artists at the Erie Litho and Printing Co. from using a little imagination and drawing up a trio of jovial-looking circus owners. If you were to believe the billing, these are the gentlemen who started the show some 58 years earlier in 1880. |

Chris,
You got any Robbins Bros poster photos of when Cole closed and was added to Robbins with Clyde Beatty etc.
I would have liked to have been a fan back in 1938 to see Robbins Bros. newly enlarged and with a parade and Barnes-Sells Floto with Ringling features fight it out in Lakeland, Florida.
Them were the days.

Harry,
I have never seen a Robbins Bros bill (not even a date tail) promoting Clyde Beatty on Robbins Bros in '38. Maybe Ole Whitey can weigh in on that one.
The elephant poster below actually dates from after Cole Bros closed for the season in Bloomington, IL on Aug 3, 1938.
Incidently in 1939 - and as late as at least 1940, some old Robbin's bills were being used by Cole Bros with the Robbins title clipped off a a newly printed Cole title pasted on.
Chris: Yes you have seen a Robbins poster of Beatty- I have sent Buckles a pic of the one you saw on my wall when you visited.
The portraits are (from left) Manny, Moe and Jack.
Manny later had the floss with the Van Hooten show; last I heard Moe was a banner puller for Danny Robinson and Jack changed his last name to Mills and did quite well.
