This trapeze float still exists at the International Circus Hall of Fame in Peru.

There's an example, or two, of wagon-mounted trapeze riggings in American circus history, but it wasn't a common presentation.

Surely it was the script, scenes and story line that inspired the Hutton conveyance, not history.

Bob,
The trapeze wagon at Peru is actually a recreation of this unit.
About 8 years ago a group of Circus Model Builders decided to recreate the float for the Circus City Festival parade.
While not the exact wagon ,it does in fact have the under gear from the American Beauties float. So in essence you can say that it is actually a Betty Hutton float.
We had a great time recreating this wagon during "Work Week" at the Hall of Fame.

I have a great photo of Pat Kelly recreating the parade scene with the playing card.
