of course i'm thrilled that a book on the life and times of Larry and Bozo is coming out via a major New York publisher. But of special note regarding the Chicago national kickoff, the BOZO TV show was never more popular than in Chicago and many of our circus friends past and present worked their acts on the show (sometimes many times over) during its long long run on Chicago TV--if i remember, Howard Schultz the agent in Chciago often booked acts on the show--perhaps others have some stories.
I was inducted into the International Clown Hall of Fame in 1996 with Bob Bell who had done the Bozo in Chicago for many years. Unfortuantely on the poster they had to sketch him in his private face because of copyright of the Bozo name and make up. Robin Eurich who played Rusty the Handyman for about ten years on the show, now lives here in Sarasota. He appeared in the "Funs-A-Poppin" clown variety show I did here at my retirement place Bay Village on Dec. 3, 2009. THe Bozo money really came in with his records. Jackie LeClaire
Jerry, Great flyer,... I believe that Al Divoran (sp?) was also an agent who had worked with Mr. Harmon, booking many of the large events that Bob Bell did not do. I did show Mr. Harmon many photos from this era and the crowds were huge. I currently own the costumes used back then.
Wondering if the L.H.P.C. will be updating there website to reflect the publication of the new book and if Bozo will be on the book tour? Please let us know.
