Lee Powell-10

Lee Powell-10, originally uploaded by bucklesw1. Lee Powell died on Tinian on July 30, 1944. Some sources say he was killed in action, while others say that he died as the result of drinking a “homemade brew" concocted by fellow Marines to celebrate their victory after a particularly harrowing encounter with attacking Japanese forces. He is interred in Honolulu, Hawaii in the National Cemetery of the Pacific.
