No. 17- RBBB in Chicago 1943

8/29/43 "ALLEZ-OOP! Elephant's jockeys mount".

You may notice that we are now in 1943 after Robert Ringling had taken control of the show. These are pictures of the "Hold Your Horses!" spec, a portrayal of the old time street parade.

Note the old time proper way to get on the head and ride in front of the ears.

Buckles,
As I have mentioned "this townie" getting bit by the circus bug before, I would like to bet dollar's to donut's, there was a young man named John Cuneo Jr. watching this magnificent spectacle unfold. A bite that turned into a loving addiction. Do you know any show that has that "drawing" power today.

Let me look into my crystal ball...it reveals scenes of the future...the image is getting clearer, brighter, sharper...OH NO, IT CAN'T BE TRUE, MY CRYSTAL MUST HAVE BLOWN A GASKET...could it be?
It's true...65 years from now the Greatest Show on Earth will have a handful of elephants on the road, like the 4 in this photo.

4 Elephants??? This fortune telling job is too depressing and overcharging people is so yesterday. I'm going to get a job at Starbucks where there's no stress and they don't overcharge...wait a minute, one out of two ain't bad.

Wade, strange that you would mention Mr. John Cuneo..He spent the entire morning yesterday at the OABA Circus Unit Meeting -Crowne Plaza Hotel, Tampa. Mr. Cuneo is like the old ad when E.F. Hutton speaks everyone listens.

Well considering that EF Hutton no longer exists as a sole entity.
