Kelly Miller Circus sale picture (From Henry Penndorf)


I was checking my "sent" folder and noticed that the picture that I said I was sending to you apparently did not attach. I thought I would give it another try, so here it is, I hope.

Any word on which elephant this is? and why she doesn't have a kelly Miller head piece on.... looks like Minnie, but that isn't one of the KM elephants.

The Kelly Miller Show always leased their elephants from the Millers. In order to get this picture they would have had to drive out to the Elephant Compound and use whatever was available.

That is indeed, Minnie, eyeballing David Rawls as he signs the papers. The photo was taken at the Endangered Ark Foundation facility in Hugo.

I worked with Davids family On Fairyland Circus when the boys did their Trampoline act. Very good looking boys. Nice a bunch of kids as you will ever meet. All 11 of them.

I wonder if the oldest girl remembers me painting her fingernails. I don't remember her name. She did a perch act with her dad. She and I were the web girls. The mom joined us after a few weeks. She had just given birth to the youngest "#11" a few weeks before the show opened. I also remember the dad being our band. He changed to record player.

There are only eight Rawls children: David, Robert (Bobby), Margaret (Margie), Susan, Chris, Mike, Kathi, and Bill.
