From Henry Penndorf

I have been interested in finding out more about the Miller-Kelly Circus sale and John Ringling North II re-entering the circus world since I first read about it on your Blog. I think it is exciting and the posiblities endless. Do you think Mr. North's intentions are to build the circus up and make the Miller-Kelly Circus into something that would be able to compete with Ringling Brothers on a national level? Do you think he will he add a cage act? Are you ready to come out of retirement?

While browsing for information on the Internet I came across this article (link below) from a Texas newspaper on the sale of the Miller-Kelly Circus to John Ringling North II. I liked the part of the article where Mr. North said he had a few ideas and was going ! to add some "Ringling magic" to the show. He also said that he is planning on cominig as far east as New York. Do you think that means the New York metroplitan area? The Article is dated January 10, 2007. I thought you might be interested in the article. Had you seen it before? The attached picture is also from the same Newspaper, The Paris News.

I have actually found out very little about John Ringling North II himself, except that he is a grand nephew of the Ringling Brothers and he and his wife own a cattle ranch in Ireland. I did find it interesting that he is the son of Henry Ringling North and not John Ringling North. In the both the above and next article, below, it says that he was a clown and part time ringmaster in his youth for Ringling Brothers.

Again while browsing for information on the sale, I came across ! this website, a blog called Show Biz Dave. It has a little more information and another picture of John Ringling North II and David Rawls. If you look on the right hand side of the article there is a list of recent posts to the website with a few more concerning the sale. One of the posts even mentions your Blog.

Have you heard anything more from your source in Hugo on the future of the "new" Kelly-Miller Circus?

The last article is about elephants and zoos. An animal rights organization calling itself "In Defense Of Animals" has published a list of its "Ten Worst Zoos For Elephants In 2006". A couple of the names on the list are very surprising. The one most notable is the San Diego Zoo & Wild Animal Park. Have you ever heard of this organization? How would they get access to the el! ephants and zoos medical records?

Have you seen, or are you planning to see the new 137th Edition of Ringling Brothers circus? I would like to know first hand your impressions of it. With regard to the current management of Ringling Brothers, my friend had a favorite response. He was fond of saying..."some people just don't get it".

I hope you found the articles interesting. I trust all is well with you and your family.

Hi, I've seen the new show, titled, Bellobration, numerous times. It is a vast improvement over last year's show. The improvements include; stellar graphics and better use of the in-show video screen, dynamic and catchy original music and most of all the 3 rings are back! Well, to be more precise the rings are diamonds of varying sizes. The new portal is most impressive, topping off a well thought out scenic design that can be best described as deco. Thank the heavens that they have done away with the pathetic "family" storyline and canned dialogue. The story line is weak but honestly who cares with all the terrific spectacles going on before your eyes. The kiddies will enjoy Bello, Mommies will enjoy the tight-rope walkers and the Daddies will enjoy the bevy of Brazilian dancers. The rest you will just have to see for yourself.
