THE JOINT WAS JUMPIN' LAST NIGHT!

I'd estimate between 80 to 100 people attended, mostly from the mysterious world of Feld Entertainment Promotion. As Mack MacDonald used to say, "Everything was first cabin!" from the open bar to the exquisite catering to the magic lantern show. Sherry and Cory are to be complimented, not only for arranging all this but I think Billy was really surprised. Barbara and I were seated at a table with Roy and Cindy, unfortunately John and Mary Ruth were unable to attend. Had a nice visit with Dave Mobbs whom I hadn't seen since the Blue Show in '79 as well as relative newcomer Brad Silverlake now headquartered in Atlanta and in charge of the Southeast U.S. for Feld Inc. Lots of excitement for an old couple like us.

Hi Buckles - The movie related items are always enjoyable to see: I've always had a particular interest on the circus through the eyes of Hollywood. In relation to the recent Leo the Lion postings, I thought your readers would enjoy a peek at this very unique truck-mounted wagon, which the folks at M-G-M had built in the late 1920's/early 1930's on an REO Speedwagon frame, to use , I would imagine, at movie premiers and special events. Even a blind man could see that this vehicle was inspired by and absolutely screams C-I-R-C-U-S! I wonder if this could still be in (hidden?) existence somewhere? Best to all, and a happy October!
