Wow I think this is on a Don Francisco date in the 60's. Nini AKA Jeanine AKA Jean my younger sister in this shot,I believe this was when my brother was in the service.Looks like my dad in the back.The bear on the left was a gift from Buckey Steel.She gently taught me what not to do around a bear.
The bear on the right was by far the best hand stand walking bear I have had. During the era of this photo I was showing San Antonio. Emil Palenberg visited the show and came over and said that he thought that was the best hand walking bear he had seen.I thanked him and he said "Son, you did not train that. You just lucked out".I'll be damned if Fuzzy Plunket also shows up three days later and tells me the same thing. Those two old farts absolutely impuned my integrity. It was 25 plus years later before I found another bear that came anywhere near to that one.
