Note Hugo's twisted whipstock. He didn't add tape or any cover to his. I remember well how he had his own way of cracking a whip. He rarely used the common swing-and-cut action, but had a knack for overhand throwing of his lash to send his popper into a circular action that provided the crack. I never saw anyone else use that technique.
