HE WAS ALSO A GREAT ARTIST AS HE PAINTED ALL OF THE SHOW BEAUTIFUL TRUCKS . I LOADED THIS FLOAT MANY TIMES ON THE GIL GRAY SHOW.

Thanks, CASEY. I never knew Billy doubled as a show painter. As it was with Clyde Beatty, Gil Gray veterans all had only the highest praise for their boss. When Gray retired, Hubert Castle came along and bought his route, thus the genesis of the Castle show. But I really doubt Mr. Gray had cross-country jumps like Hubert had when I was there.

CLEO PLUNKETT HAD ME HIRED BY HUBERT TOO BE THE PROP BOSS AFTER HE HAD ACQUIRED THE GIL GRAY ROUTE AS I HAD PLAYED ALL OF THE CITIES ON THE CANADIAN AND MID WEST AND WEST DATES. IT WAS A CHALLENGE FOR SURE . I NEVER DROVE SO MUCH IN MY LIFE BEFORE. WE WENT THRU THE WYOMING DATES AND IT RAINED EVERY DAY !! YOU CAME ON AFTER JACK FULBRIGHT DIDN'T YOU ?
