Clyde Beatty and Harriett Iwicki (the Polish equivalent for Evans) married in 1933. Almost overnight, she put in for a cat act. Her new husband put her off as long as he could, but her operatic entreaties won out, and this act was developed for 1936. Arky Scott was involved, as was Colonel William Woodcock, Sr. History was more generous to Eddie Allen, who gets most of the credit for the elephant work. Beatty schooled the two passengers, Simba the lion, and Primba the tigress. There is long history to this act, covered on this site over the years we've been blessed to have it.
