Sarasota had competing passenger

rail service when I 1st came down

Soon thereafter we lost both

When Amtrak was created as a

very poor substitute service

the farthest Southern service

on our West coast is Tampa

Amtrak provides a dedicated

motor coach service between

Sarasota & the Tampa station

I will be back on the train

tomorrow heading North to DC

Amtrak glommed the Seaboard

names of Silver Star & Meteor

for their daily Florida trips

The old ACL station on Main Street

where it terminated at the rail track

became a Brewmaster Steakhouse before

it was torn down to build a high rise

mwdical office building "Kane Plaza"
