It was a hell of a thrill to play their Shrine Auditorium in '72, with Castle. I thought of all the legendary stars and shows staged there, and of the Oscars calling it home for many years. It is where Judy Garland did her big finale speech in A STAR IS BORN (1954). In 2002, Kim Baer and I took Parley Baer there to visit the Gatti show, and had a brief few jackpots with Larry Allen Dean. This venue is immense, and I loved looking out again from the stage into the cavernous house. As great as it was to play there, it was not so great to note our Castle route card had our next jump from L.A. across the country to Dodge City, Kansas.
