Don't know if this shot is from the right year, but Clyde Beatty starred on the Cole show in that building. What a hell of a big deal that was, drawing crowds like this in the middle of the Great Depression. Adkins and Terrell got a major bank loan on the strength of signing Beatty, and for three strong seasons, they had a hit. 1938 was cruel to circuses, and the Cole show closed in mid-seaon, shipping their top acts to their sister-show, Robbins Bros.
