I thought Buckles Blog was for the sharing of history of all things circus; these pictures seem to fit in with that criteria so I'm not sure why the criticism....
I think most of us who read Buckles Blog really appreciate how Chic (with Shannon's help) has stepped up to the plate to keep the blog going! It takes time to gather pictures, scan them, post them, comment on them.... I really like that we often get comments from Chic that explain the pictures we are seeing...
I agree with Wendy. I had a blog for about 6 years(linked on the left), eventually shutting it down as it was hard to publish comment's due to the vile, vicious comment's received directed at the circus, and animal training in particular. Dozens of comment's directed at the "washed up has been's" who frequented Buckles Blog. A number of the comment's really scared me, and it wasn't worth the time or effort anymore.
Yes, there have been some "unique" house car's in the circus. Off the top of my head Victor Julians elegant bus with the dog boxes built in the living room wall, and at the less elegant level Rudolf Cimzi's(sp) bus which he and his wife lived in with their Pomeranians. The Strong's had a unique semi trailer with living quarter's in front and horse stable in back on the lower level and dog kennel up above.
I just saw Paul G's comment, and I am sorry that happened to you Paul. While my prior comment in agreement with Wendy still stand's I must say shame, shame on you Chic. While I have never met you in reading your past comment's I noted you were opinionated and I assumed(wrongly I guess) valued other people's equally valuable opinions. There is nothing more loathsome in this world then censorship.
The prior mentioned blog "CircusNOSpin" was started year's ago at the suggestion of a number of people who had been censored/deleted on Buckles Blog during it's inception. Folk's may remember(and the pages are still available at the site linked on the left) that any comment's/post's deleted could be sent to me and they would be posted in full on CircusNOSpin for all to see. That well and it was well received, that is until the people who had suggested the blog and set it up for me, as they were afraid of repercussions and I didn't know how to do it took so much heat from their circus friends that they wanted their name's taken off the lead page after 3 month's. Although they maintained the blog and helped me with problems(such as Shannon) secretly and behind the scenes for year's. I was the only one willing to take the heat. My son's had me add their name's of endorsement a short time later so that as they said, "we will take some heat too."
That is what it is, if you are going to maintain a fair and balanced world, Chic. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen, but never censer an opinion or comment as valuable as yours. If folks think animal rights activist are as evil as a leg trap caught wolf, you have no idea of what evil is until you light up the "with it and for it" folks by vilifying one of their sacred cows. Describing their reaction and comments as death coming and it is riding a white horse is inadequate.
You are doing a good job Chic so knock it off, no more censoring.
Thank you, Chic. That say's a lot about you, and apology accepted, although not necessary. It is indeed a tough task you have undertaken, one which my humble self appreciates. There is so little left anymore, it is nice to have something.
I'll see if I can stir it up a little bit more by telling you I was enjoying the blog more in recent time's. No disrespect to Mr. Woodcock, and I do respect him greatly, and appreciate that Buckles blog was "his baby," but I(and many who won't admit it publicly) had grown weary of the same old Woodcock archived pictures and discussions. As much as I enjoy a worthy and notable autobiography I had grown weary of reading it once a week. If I can find a moment when the Chinese internet is strong I will try to send a pot load of pictures I had attempted to send to Buckles when he was manning the helm. I do pray he and his family are well.

Thank you Wade and thank you Chic. No harm no foul at this end.
Chic, especially appreciated and enjoyed today's letterheads.
Let's all keep Buckles and family in our thoughts and prayers.
