Known to many of us as "The New Garden"

Actually Garden #4 opened in 1968

It sits between 7th & 8th Avenues

between 31st & 33rd Streets above the

current poor rendition of Penn Station

I became a regular at Kelly's Bar on 34th. I was once trailed by a mugger on the street, and ducked into Kelly's, telling the barkeep, "We might have trouble coming in the door." He laid a saw-off shotgun on the bar, and said, "Let the sumbitch come."
