First time I saw RBBB was here as a little kid. The Kimris Duo spinning around the very top of the arena in their airplane/trapeze rigging is indelibly imprinted in my mind. Handlebar/TGSOE globe logo rounds out that imprint and still stirs my circus juices.
I also saw my very first "Circus" here in this building, The smell of the show penetrated the entire building, A smell I'll never forget, along with the sideshow in the basement ...

I never saw either of the 1st 2
but was very familiar with this
"Old Garden" #3 which sat along
Eighth Avenue between 49th & 50th
It was torn down soon after the
"New Garden" #4 opened in 1968

they skirted the 3 levels with
the red & white Calabana this
really drab joint sprang to life
An amaqzing transition that I'll
never forget
