Ive raised 6 huskies over the last 42 years and I think only two of them would have been able to do what the Bombshell was able to do with a whole team of them. I've found that Huskies, like elephants, can be too smart and curious for their own well being. They are also incredibly friendly. They haven't met anybody that's not a friend, but their next adventure is right over there....... sure would have liked to have seen her act.
Hello. I'm new on here, and I have losts of pictures I'd like to share, but don't know how to post them on this site. I had a dog act with husky/ wolf cross sled dogs I trained. Came into the arena with six sled dogs pulling a wheeled rig with my money hitched to the side running as fast as he could to keep up. I had a liberty horse I worked while riding my Brahman bull ...was at GeeGee's place winter of '89 the Brahma was only a yearling and buddied up with GeeGee's African punk, Roxie...I have a couple pictures of them and Roxie with my Smooth Fox Terriers on board. If any one could tell me how to post, I'll be glad to share. Also, I worked in Gaylord's Bicentennal Theatrical Wild West show ...worked the pony Appaloosa liberty act before he bought them so I could teach him to work the act. That as in 89 all so.
Gee Gee and then-husband Billy Powell had the act, Gee Gee's Alaskans, when I met them, in '65. They were on Howard Suesz. The act was an industry-wide sensation, with immense reception from audiences. One venerable story has Jimmy Douglas sitting there sewing up his spec stuff, when in runs some guy announcing he was going to make an act of Huskies, like Gee Gee. Without looking up, Jimmy muttered, "You may have Huskies, but you'll never have them like Gee Gee."
