Otto has always been my favorite since the first time I remember seeing him in 1954, I was 6 years old. He was juggling those famous pie plates right in front of me. The last time I saw him was, I believe 1971, still juggling those pie plates and I was still loving it.
Just seeing this gives me a smile, and a sense of contentment. Wish I had this portrait on my wall.
I've said it here before, but I was standing in the Back Door one day with Albert White, watching Otto's come-in, when Albert said, "Otto is the only clown who can make other clowns laugh."

I saved my favorite for last
To me he was the ultimate clown
I agree but never thought he received the recognition he should have...

He was the grand master of
"The Come In" & he would keep
the whole crowd mesmerized
with whooping & hollering for
as much time as was allocated
I would never miss it whenever
I was at a performance
All it took over many years
was from 3 to 5 tin pie plates
No one could ever do better
At one point he added the
balancing of a flower on his
nose while juggling but it was
hard to see from a distance

I would hate to make you
cry Roger but I have the
ORIGINAL Bill Balentine
artwork of Otto with his
battered express package
hanging on my wall
It was for Art Concello
who gifted it to Kenny
who gifted it to me
I treasure it greatly
I've just posted an image of it
