Beatty's courageous co-star here is the decorous Nebraskan, Leslie Brooke. She had a good run in films as "the other woman", a gang moll, or as a memorable femme fatale. She got her best notices for BLONDE ICE (1948), which today is found on YouTube. She retired from the studios to move to Hawaii, to live with her growing family. Ms. Brooke died at 79, in Sherman Oaks, California, in 2011.
Beatty never worked a wire cat in his act, so I'm left to guess this one was borrowed from Thousand Oaks.
