I still have hope for
that 3rd tall "W" tub
in the mud somewhere
according to Billie Lou
I'd be happy to buy it
It's yours if you want to go to Texas to pick it up.
I've gotta talk to my
GOOD FRIEND Gary Hill
& offer him a Florida
vacation package deal
(how bout it Gary)
All the good stuff is in Florida . . . or Texas . . . drat!
Two things, Chic. Tub's not in the mud, locked up in the semi, and I don't live in Texas (1500 miles north and I don't drive anymore). Buckles, how much do they bring? I'll pass it on to my sister. There's more than one down there.
Worthless if you don't have an elephant.
Thanks so much for information
Billie Lou so where is the semi
& who has the key to it
I will find a way to have it
brought to Sarasota as Barbara
called me to remind me that
she (& Buckles) awarded it to
me as long as I could arrange
for its transport down here
As far as I'm told there is
only 1 more tall "W" tub as
2 of them are light pole bases
at "Munzie Acres" (out of 3)
I hear there are plenty of
extra elephants up at the
Polk Pachy Park but I'm more
inclined to get an inflatable
They make nifty entry light bases
On my last visit to Peggy MacDonald, she told me everything she and Mac had--tubs, Opal's balancing stand, chains, stakes, bullhooks, headpieces, you name it--all of it was still right out in their barn, and no one had ever asked for a single thing. Seems long ago, someone stated here that there had at last been some transition for some or all of it. But this was after Mac and Peggy were both gone. Perhaps Ms. Henderson can bring us current. Even if I'm no longer collecting, I'd love to know what happened with the contents of Mac's barn.
Everything in the barn on the San Antonio property was put in a semi trailer and moved to their New Braunfels property in 1983. Mack was hospitalized at the time and didn't recover. Peggy lived in New Braunfels until she became ill in 2007. She then was with me until she died at my home in 2008. She was terminal and under intermittent chemo therapy, but not too uncomfortable, We traveled a lot between treatments. The property and semi are still there, and my sister in Texas is in charge. Neither one of us gets around much anymore. As far as I know little or nothing has been removed from the semi. Mack and Peggy are buried in Belton, MO near Mother, Dad and other family.
Thanks so much Billie Lou
I'll ask Barbara for your
number if that's OK with
you so I can please give
you a call & perhaps talk
to your sister as well
Sure hope you 2 are doing
as well as possible
New Braunfels was where
I visited Emil Pallenberg
many years ago while the
national tour of something
I worked on was playing at
the Majestic in San Antonio
Emil and Hannah lived down the road from Peggy. They spent a lot of time together. I remember Hannah had a perpetual Christmas area in her house. Did you visit the Cat Fish Barn while there? We always did. Also, did you know that Pallenbergs rehearsed in that barn long long ago? There were people there who remembered. By the way, I played many a Majestic theater, but not in San Antonio.
There were (& some still are)
Majestic Theaters in many cities
Many were originally part of
The Interstate Vaudeville circuit
Quite a few have been restored
The Majestic in NY has the long
running Phantom Of The Opera
I 1st met Emil in Commack in the
early 60s on the Beatty Show &
not again until the early 80s in
San Antonio at the Majestic
He invited me to dinner at their
house in New Braunfels on a day
off from a tour of Dracula
Kemp Time?
Ha ha ha Billie Lou I had
completely forgotten about
Kemp's alternate time zone
