Barbara Woodcock and Clyde Beatty, 1963, in Detroit. His birthyear has been often listed as 1903. His travel records, found in Ancestry.com, as far back as journeys to Europe, in 1936, through travels to Mexico, Cuba, and the then-Territory of Hawaii for his circus dates there, have the year given by the man himself as 1902. I re-visited his mausoleum last month, and when he died, his widow, Jane, had 1902 placed on his marker, which is about as final as it gets.
