Unheard of these days, 69 days in MSG according to an internet calendar calculator for 1977.
The 107th edition of The Greatest Show on Earth (Red Unit) was in The Garden for 2 months and 8 days including no performance days.

We were there the next year and toward the end of the engagement I would take the herd outside and walk them around the block a few times to get some fresh air and believe me, they were a hand full.

Just mentioned this yesterday to a performer who was on the show in the early 70s - a top priced ticket at The Garden was $8.00.
I was a teenager and could not afford an $8.00 ticket so as any New Yorker knows, if you bought a $3 or $4 ticket and hid a dollar under the stub when you gave it to the usher you were given the red carpet treatment to an upgraded seat.
Programs were $2.00.

Art Concello told me that in some

I recently heard of a man that bid for and bought Gunthers storage unit. There were a lot of posters, a tiger skin, Lipizzan bristles & reins, whips, and bull hooks. I was told this last weekend. I thought it strange to be Gunthers but the guy said that is who it belonged to. I am not sure what else was there.

These storage units are up for bid when rent is overdue. Wonder who dropped the ball?

Those ups & downs for basketball

were a damn nuisance but those

for hockey were cold & wet which

made them much worse Scott

MY son's told me I could not reminisce until I was over 60. Now that that day has come, one of my most memorable circus memories is playing the Garden for 2 months. Our trailer was parked inside the Garden and my boy's Adam and Eric loved it. A number of 10:30 morning shows with the rest of the day off to play in New York. In addition to the Knicks and Rangers games, there were concert's and the very first WWF match. The boys were ecstatic and I told them to calm down because it was so stupid it would never last more then this one time... For me it was the Mike Tyson bouts in the smaller arena as he got his feet wet in the world of boxing. Later bowing with him and other celebrities at the Garden bowling alley. Unfortunately for my son Adam, who decided to continue in this weird and whacky world of show business, he will never see the like's of it again.......

Darlene,

I find it strange that GGW would have a storage unit that Sigrid would not know about and either emptied it, or at the least paid for the storage so that it didn't get auctioned. More likely an ex groom or friend and it was just attributed to GGW. May have been his stuff, but not his unit.
