Connie and Nellie were sold the following year to Vazquez. One died as a result to that truck fire. Any ideas from anyone what became of those two Africans Kenny and Hugo that were on C&B 2 the year prior ( Genoa before the name change ) ?
I don't remember a Tela, but the baby Africans both died in winter quarters in Stapleton, Alabama, as did the hippo "Fat Albert" that I drove in 1978. Things were pretty tight financially, and I don't think there was anyone in winter quarters that knew what to do with the big pachyderms. Sad.
