While attending one of Parley Baers parties I was delighted to be introduced to Eddie Allen who was retiring as a Union Executive in the Movie Industry.
I thought I might hear some interesting stories about the Cole Show and 101 Ranch but his memories were vague at best.
But Parley had some great tales about him shutting down the Studios a few times.

It was Eddie Allen who worked with Clyde and Harriett Beatty to create Simba lion and Primba the tiger riding the original Anna May. Over time, others walked with Anna May, including Col. Woodcock, and Arky Scott. I never had it clear how Allen became so well-placed in the Hollywood scene, and came to wield such incredible power.
I wondered about that too.
During our brief chat I was fascinated by his lacquered fingernails and couldn't imagine him ever shoveling any elephant shit.
