One year Barbara and Ben presented "Opal" on the Sullivan Show.

BARBARA WOODCOCK said...: This was the only time that Buckles didn't make the Sullivan Show. Buckles posted a check we got from Sofa, who bought out the Ed Sullivan, for reruns. That was not what we were paid for performing on the show. We got scale, which was not a real big deal. When Buckles saw it "LIVE" he almost had a heart attack. You really can't think how small the stage was. And I was injured in Chicago once when the prop men left the guy wires tied off to the ring curb. So Buckles was always very careful after that. But I wanted to do it on the Sullivan Show. It was close, we just missed the cameras, and the back walls. But it was fun. And It was too late for Buckles to do anything about it.....Barbara.....; 31 July, 2015 20:01
