Buckles....Thanks for posting the King Bros. and King Bros./Cristiani photos. The 1950's were a great time to live in Macon, Georgia. The King show had winter quarters at Central City Park located only a few minutes from the main part of town. The city had cut a sweetheart deal with the circus allowing them to use the park for $1 per year. It was stipulated that the circus could not charge any admission to the visitors at winter quarters. This was a more simpler time and people flocked to Central City Park to watch performers practicing, and to view the animals. Sunday crowds were always huge...The circus did sell peanuts to feed the elephants. What great memories...Thanks again.....
