Thanks Buckles and what a way to start off the day.
Isla Miller told me about what it was like running a circus during the war years as D. R. was in the army.
Isla drove a show truck and what a trip it was.
Kelly Miller made it though the war years and the rest is history and today Barbara Jane Miller Byrd is still with it and for it and it is still all circus WITH elephants.
It is my pleasure to know them all and a great bunch of show folks.

I can't help but to notice the seating is all on one side and the rings are all pushed to the other side. Do you think this was a normal daily set-up at this time or were the rings moved back for a special reason perhaps?

Looks like a 40' ring and a 30' middle piece.
THANKS BUCKLES!
With war time rationing, how did Kelly/Miller get enough gas to make their jumps? did they have special coupons?
Francis Kitzman was with the Russell show all thru the War and he said former Indiana Governor Paul V McNutt, by then of the Roosevelt administration, gave a break to both rail and truck circuses and carnivals under the theory that morale on the home front was important too.
I would say an 80 with 30 foot middles
