Christy must have had a ton of paper left over as I have seen a classic one of Floyd Kings new 1946 King Bros with a large Christy poster name not cross out and a King date sheet beside it. Also Dailey Bros used large Christy paper. It must have been real cheap if Floyd bought any. Sure would be nice if some fan had these photos to share with us. Harry in Texas
Jim: I bought the Christy menagerie litho in 1955 for ONE DOLLAR when Central Show Print in Mason City was clearing their shelves of all their old paper, much of which was by Riverside. They put out a dollar list and I bought all I could afford. I wish I had a copy of that list now.
I also met George Christy. In 1968 I found myself going thru South Houston when I recognized the old WQ building on my right. I found his office and went in and we talked awhile. Several years earlier I had worked for a man who had worked for Christy back in the teens and Mr C remembered him very well. He also told me a story about giving an elephant an enema and that he was going to write his autobiography and use a picture of this event on the jacket.
