When we joined Kelly-Miller the winter of 1949-50 the Millers had imported seven young elephants "Sally", "Jenny" "Kay" "Hattie", "Barbara", "Anna May" and "Norma" plus the last minute purchase of the Hamid-Morton elephants "Mabel", "Mona" and "Juno". So my father rounded up as much help as he could as seen above Freddy (from Biller Bros.) John Carroll (long time K-M hand), Smokey Jones from the Dailey Show, Alonzo Dever (who would take 4 elephants to the newly framed Cole & Walters Show) and "Little Irish" Greer. I might add that Alonzo Dever dropped dead on the Cole & Walters lot late in the season and his helper, young kid named Wally Ross, finished out the season.
