Early 1950's K-M #13

Giraffe rode in the back and D.R.'s liberty act in the front.
The first show to carry a giraffe, quite an attraction out in the hinterlands and heavily advertised but appeared in a pit show causing complaints from people who thought it would be included in the price of admission.

Some people would get a free peek at his head when he sometimes managed to get it out above the sidewall to see what was happening out in the world.

Richard Reynolds told me Kelly-MIller was also the first trucker to carry a rhino.

DIdn't AAA or one of the gas companies have a commercial featuring this giraffe? It hinted on the difficulties of finding a route that had high enough bridges, if I remember correctly.
