Frankie Saluto had a makeup that was unmistakable, and was among the most complicated of the midget clowns--the makeup, I mean. Frankie himself could be rather colorful in the dressing room. Otto Griebling could get him going like no one else. In Lubbock one year, the clowns were assigned a visiting sports team dressing room, and Frankie's trunk was spotted in a side room with the toilet stalls. Otto said, "Look at dot! You da star of da show, and they put your trunk in da shithouse!" Frankie screamed for three days.
