Crescent Park #1 (From Eric Beheim)

During the spring and summer of 1971, I was in Newport, Rhode Island attending Naval Officer Candidate School. I spent my weekend driving around, photographing the various antique carousels in the area. (This was back before there were any established carousel fans groups or the many books of carousel photos.) One of the machines I photographed was the carousel located at the Crescent Park amusement park in East Providence, Rhode Island. This first image shows the "hippodrome" style building (with its onion dome) that the machine is housed in.
