Welcome to Buckles Blog. This site is for the discussion of Circus History all over the world.
For a wild guess on this top, am I close thinking a 150 with three 50s? Anyone?
Sure looks like it.Once on the Beatty Show lot I asked Johnny Pugh the size and he said it was a 150' but added someone came around and advised him it wasn't a full 150er like the old Cole Show tops.Whatever that means.
Leif explained to me that the old 150s were measured between the sidewalls when erected but newer 150s were measured in the flat & were narrower when erected & some newer middles were only 48 feet
In '81, I measured between the Center Poles, and got between 47' 6", and 47' 10". Close enough for me.
