In my 53 years in the business
that year's Blue Show remains
my alltime favorite "TGSOE"
I am very grateful to have been
involved in that production
Produced at a time when the Circus was still owned by Mattel, “Neptune’s Circus” must certainly rank as one of the Felds' most lavish specs. Its music score was equally lavish in its use of “nautical” music. Here are those titles that I was able to recognize: “Rocked in the Cradle of the Deep,” “Over the Waves,” “Sailor’s Hornpipe,” “Sailing, Sailing,” “Paddlin’ Madeline Home,” “Three Little Fishes,” “What Do You Do With a Drunken Sailor,” “By the Beautiful Sea,” “The Sea,” “March et Cortege” from Gounod’s opera “Queen of Sheba” (played for the arrival King Neptune), “Beyond the Sea,” and “The Yellow Submarine.”
