Barbara asked me to run these pictures, I can't imagine why, her Facebook has three times the viewership than my humble offerings.
Incidentally I saw Mr. Johnson yesterday on TCM in a early movie, he was a young Doctor arguing with Lionel Barrymore while a nurse (Ava Gardner) looked on.

What a terrific trio! I know it means nothing to any of you, but I've always thought it was so neat that my great Uncle Ernie's wife, Frances, was a schoolmate and friend of Ava's. Did I ever meet her? No. Drat!
There's a fun line from an old I Love Lucy where Lucy and Ethel go gaga over Robert Taylor or some guy like that and Lucy and Ethel go nuts. Fred tells them to calm down, he's just a person like any one else. Then Ava walks by and Fred flips out and the ladies tell him to calm down etc to which Fred replies, Yeah, BUT she is Not just like anyone else.
Thus endeth my diatribe for the week.
Did not mean to overlook Ms. Merriweather who is also not just like anybody else.
Thanks for sharing. It is a shame that you didn't get to meet her. So close and yet so far. Still it is something how our lives touch people in a round about way.....Barbara.....
