Early 4paw-Sells photo.
I was down in your area visiting with John Zweifel and Jim Elliott before
I returned to the cold north. We had a dusting of snow this morning.
I found a scrapbook in the Zweifel Collection and wondered if you could
help date the photos. Attached is the shot of the elephant herd and I thought
you might be able to pin down what year it was based on the number of elephants
on the lot.
"Hi John sorry I missed seeing you.
I think it might be the Ringlings 1910-11 4Paw-Sells revival since this was the size herd (all Asians) and the absences of the the well documented "Mike", "Topsy" and "Sid" tho the Tableaux in the background might indicate otherwise or even they might be out of the picture.
So in a nutshell, I don't know.
But what a pleasant surprise to have you contribute to the Blog!"

I believe the Forepaugh tab at far right went from the 1907 Forepaugh-Sells to 1908 Gollmar and never returned.
