Emerson eventually gained a lot of power at MGM and managed to get many a show guy work at the Studio.
In fact while I was away in the Army he made a deal for my folks to add our elephants in a few scenes of "The Big Circus" while they were wintering out there with Rudy Bros.
John Herriott has a lot of George Emerson stories from the filming of "Jupiter's Darling".

I can't help but recall the act that Roy Wells put together at Jungle Larry's with a chimp and a male lion on the back of an African elephant. I have a postcard of it around here somewhere.
