Friday, July 28, 1967 - Thousand Oaks News-Chronicle If the photographer had waited one second, we would see Ace rising on his hind legs, as I elevated the chunk of meat. He was a well animal. Threats by the Ringling show, or the Polish Director, as was called the man in charge of keeping the Communist-dominated performers corralled, may or may not have been made against the lion, but that's the angle that generated headlines. Benny Bennett pronounced him perfectly fine the day we got him. We shifted him into the Big Stage Arena, shown here, and he at once enjoyed investigating his new surroundings. |
