Stern: Well I’ve heard of some screwy ideas but you
topped them all this year coming up with a ballet for elephants. Who thought of that
one?
JRN: I thought of that
one.
Stern: And you
would, John. And now here’s a question.
How long does it take to train an elephant to do its
tricks?
JRN: Well, it doesn’t take so very long to train them,
but we’re constantly teaching them new things, so they’re busy all the time.
Stern: Is it true that an elephant never
forgets?
JRN: Absolutely.
Stern:
Absolutely.

For me, these Peter Arno cartoons were a swift turn-off. So was JRN's concept that spawned them.
