Super Circus #3


Kirchner’s co-host was Mary Hartline (whose husband happened to be the show’s producer.) Mary was known for her short skirts, white boots and long blonde hair. As a result of her being on Super Circus, she also had her own line of merchandise for young girls: Mary Hartline dolls, hats, boots, etc. (Those Mary Hartline items now turn up on eBay on a regular basis.)

Mary Hartline was the first sex symbol on television and had a strong following of the dads in the TV audience who never complained when their kids watched the show. A small doll was produced in her image and is now selling in antique shops for as much as $35.00. I think it cost a couple dollars when offered at first.
