The Farfans’ net was described as being made of Dacron and measuring about 13 feet wide when stretched.

I'm not certain but most likely

it was Nylon as most nets then

Dacron is a very strong fiber

also from DuPont but is more

expensive & all synthetic nets

are far more abrasive to skin

than any of the natural fibers

Older nets were mostly cotton
