I ran this picture recently of "Big Babe" taken from the vestibule as the train pulled out of winter quarters.
We moved up to New York on about 20 cars, while enroute I recall stopping in the middle of nowhere and receiving word that Charlie Moroski's wife had fallen off the train during a party and had been successfully rescued.
I also remember doing watch and how bitterly cold it was inside those old elephant cars as we passed thru New Jersey.
Later a few of us boarding a buss for a ferry ride to Manhattan to lay down the picket lines in the Garden basement then the march from the Mott Haven Yards the following day.
