Hold That Lion #31

My second all-time favorite Three Stooges comedy is Three Little Pirates, released in 1946. That’s the one where Moe and Curly do their famous Maha! Aha! routine (which Moe Howard dictated to the script-writers and which contains some pseudo-Russian double talk, a little Yiddish, and several New York geographical references.) This was Curly’s second to last Stooge film. During the previous months, he had suffered some minor strokes, which affected his ability to perform. Fortunately, he was “up” for this film and his performance is brilliant. Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk.
